Aesthetic medicine check-up

Aesthetic medicine check-up

An aesthetic medicine check-up is tailored to suit the patient’s needs through both research into the patient’s history and an objective standard check-up.

A series of evaluations will then help establish clinical imperfections and suggest a general preventive and corrective programme according to the patient’s request with aesthetic medicine methodologies. Therefore, during the check-up, the aesthetic doctor will:

  • - Consider the patient’s medical record according to the patients request.
  • - Perform a standard exam aimed towards the request.
  • - Evaluate morphology and function from a medical aesthetic point of view:
  •     1. Make a psychological evaluation: the interview will include several tests aimed at defining a global psychological profile of the user. It will also highlight emotional reactions in social and environmental behaviour caused by the imperfections that are being examined.
  •     2. Perform a morpho-anthropometric assessment: the knowledge of the full history of the patient’s weight, his/her ideal subjective weight, lean body mass, total water quantity, obtained through the analytical methods of body composition such as measurement of the cutaneous folds and/or impedance. This will allow weight targets or localised treatments to be set. The actual prescription of the food plan for metabolic or weight recovery of the patient starts from the morpho-anthropometric evaluation.
  •     3. Perform a postural evaluation: to note possible postural alterations in support planes (static or dynamic) through direct observation.
  •     4. Make vascular evaluation of the lower limbs: based on medical semiotics and with the aid of a podoscope if necessary.
  •     5. Carry out an ultrasound evaluation of the hypodermis: to distinguish localized adiposity from fibrosclerotic panniculopathy in its evolutionary stages.
  •     6. Perform a skin evaluation (a skin check-up according to Bartoletti Ramette): clinical tests and measurement of the physiological parameters with the aid of a stratum corneum, sebum, pH and temperature measurements.
  •     7. Carry out a blood test and other medical tests according to specific medical needs.
  • - Formulate a diagnostic classification of clinical defects, a global balance and the prevention and treatment programme.
